03 May 2017 // Wednesday
So today was supposed to be an Okinawa (OKA) chartered flight but after hearing how horrible this flight was I decided to swop it away for a PNH. The original cic was nice enough but I'm surprised another cic got called up on the very morning.
She overheard from someone that I was leaving the company soon so she put me to work in Business Class with her so she could "interrogate" me ahaha.
Business Class was full on the way up and 9 on the way back. A pleasant surprise that more than half of the passengers were not eating on the way up so we had some time to rest.
Other than that it was just another PNH.

End of Mini-Holiday
01 May 2017 // Monday
That's officially the end of my mini holiday.
On the way back I worked in Business Class and the load was light!
Midway through the flight this Caucasian couple started searching frantically in the cabin for something so I asked if they needed help. The gentleman told me he just dropped his wedding band so we started searching as well. My cic found the ring eventually and the passenger thanked my cic for "saving his marriage". We were dumbfounded haha.
Coming back was much faster than expected and I must say this was one of my best Cairns!

3rd Cairns!
29 April 2017 // Saturday
So its my third CNS and its especially special because my special one is coming with me!
Putting aside the fact that he paid $1.6k for the ticket, it was a pretty enjoyable trip.
On the way up to CNS the load wasn't too full and we took a quick nap before starting breakfast service.
I think its either due to our late commencement for duties or whatsoever we ended up working our asses off till landing.
We didn't even have time to finish our goodies we bought onboard. Food are not allowed into Australia but we managed to sneak some into the country because we were exempted from the customs check.
Yay to the weekends and PH on Monday spent in CNS!

wtf KL
27 April 2017 // Thursday
So its KL again today and I got a shock when I saw the going up load of 145 and what's more shocking is that coming back was only 28! So we all expected a battle going up.
As we commenced boarding about half the aircraft cabin was filled with Sri Lankans who wore the same t-shirt and are prolly going on some mission in Malaysia. We were joking about how we are doing a semi-Colombo (CMB) flight.
Going up was already crazy enough (as usual) and what's worse was that some passengers even asked for milo (wtf?) my crew just stared at me in disbelief lol.
Sadly we gotta clean the entire cabin for coming back sector even though it was a super light load. When cic made announcement to commence boarding, my S3 thanked me for boarding in advance claiming that I would be able to handle 28 pax alone haha.
Upon boarding, my S3 stood at 5D and coincidentally, passenger who boarded was seated at 5D so she had to step out. She stepped to 14D and I followed suit, only to have her chased out by the second passenger who was seated at 14D too. This happened for the third time when she stepped to 17D. The next passenger who boarded was seated at 18D. Just as she thought she managed to "escape" this time, the forth passenger seated at 17D came by, and all of us were having such a great laugh that despite the super light load our S3 is so unlucky to keep stepping into passengers' seats.
That's all for KL today! Gotta pack for CNS tomorrow lo~~

Best KL
26 April 2017 // Wednesday
So I am on amsby today and just came back from leave so I originally wanted to call in to request for a China flight. Got to know from my batch girl that she is gonna mc for her Kathmandu (KTM) so I was really afraid I'd get called up for KTM. Just as I was pondering my next step, I received the call from OCC and activated me for first KL. KL two days in a row before CNS; I got no complains man.
What's even luckier is the load! 59 and 48... what on earth? Super light load!
But the ground staff must be crazy to assign almost everyone at the back of the aircraft like full at each row.. even the passenger questioned me and I couldn't answer.
Other than that, this is the smoothest and bestest KL ever so far... I've got no comments xD
P.S. Kudos to my man who sends me to work everyday without fail even at the oddest hours like today :)

Hyd... Hyderabad... Holiday!!!
19 April 2017 // Wednesday
Yay last flight before leave! India overnight always leaves me with nothing to look forward to.
Gonna keep it simple... Having passengers who can't decided whether they wanna eat... And passengers who asks for beer one and again even though they haven't touched the first one.
Haiz... Tidy up my tired feelings and off I go for my long awaited holiday!

Happening HKT
17 April 2017 // Monday
Been some time since I did HKT and I must say its a killer to do this flight during Songkran because both ways are full! To add on to this horror, there's more of those one-kind passengers (OKP) which I mentioned before.
Here's one at Row 5.
Upon boarding she was seated in jcl and her mother seated in ey, but she decided to swop so her elderly mother could enjoy jcl. We had no problem with that.
Next she pressed call bell to ask me for a toy for her nephew. "Is it still the green spongebob and the plane plushie?" She probably was trying to show she knows our stuff very well but I am not impressed at all. So I told her yes its still those two in which she replied, "ee, so leychey," (sorry I can't explain the meaning of that) "but never mind la, give me one each." she continued. *roll eyes*
When I was pushing down my cart to Row 5 and serving special meals along the way, I reached Row 5 and was about to serve the baby meal at 5ABC, this OKP at 5DEF interrupted me by asking, "Come, tell me what's the entree choice today?" She totally caught me by surprise because (1) I wasn't ready to serve her yet and (2) who the hell uses the word entree? I managed to blabber to her "just give me a moment please" where's she perfectly fine with it.
When I finally reached her I offered the fish or chicken to her and she asked to see both meals! I rolled my eyes a hundred times inside and unwrapped the foil to show her. She was taking her own sweet time to pick and choose by weighing the healthiness of the choices and finally opted for the fish because "there was more greens". After picking the fish she asked for the chicken too and I told her I can't give her extra unless all passengers have been served. She agreed and carried on with her meal. *phew finally*
Then the second challenge came when I was serving this young Indian couple. They don't look local, so when I offered the meals, he stared at me for a few seconds before asking me for vegetarian meal. I told him it was only by request basis and offered him biscuits. He waited a few seconds while staring at me and asked for orange juice. I repeated my question to know whether they wanted biscuits and he stared at me AGAIN, waited and waited and waited... "ya of course" he said.
..........
First sector closed. Here comes the second sector's first OKP. Row 5 AGAIN.
I stood at 5ABC for boarding and since I was pretty tall I usually close the compartment above so I can stand straight. When this family boarded, this lady who seems like the MIL started putting all their bags in the compartments across. I was worried the passengers at 5DEF will not have space for their bags later on so I asked the MIL if she wanted to put it in the compartment above but she ignored me and continued. *rages inside*
After they settled down, I opened the empty compartment above them and this MIL started standing up and transferring all her bags and blocking all the boarding passengers. Why are there such stubborn passengers!
Something on a lighter mood, I'm surprised a kid below 2 years old can speak and answer questions perfectly. I think its my first time seeing an infant speak so I find it very amusing.
Finally it comes to landing time. This couple asked about their connecting flight to Brisbane (BNE) which is boarding at 8.30pm and we were supposed to land 8.40pm but because of slight delays we're landing at 9pm. They asked, "so what am I gonna do if this plane lands at 9? Is the aircraft gonna hold for us?"
Rule number one; if you are asking a favour, please ask nicely.
The way they asked the question triggered the inner sarcastic me. I asked if they booked the connecting flight themselves and they nodded. "Sir, ma'am, I would suggest you to book a longer transit the next time you book your flights, preferably at least 2 hours. I can't promise the aircraft would hold for you, but the ground staff would assist you in anyway they can."
I ended up checking the seat plan and realized half the plane passengers are heading to BNE.
Such a happening HKT...

DRW isn't that bad after all
16 April 2017 // Sunday
DRW again on a Sunday but this time with a much more comfortable load. I chose S4 for the day because I felt so tired and wanted to catch some rest behind.
Can't recall much from the first sector except for the heavier load and the extremely long flight time. Sadly one lavatory couldn't be locked from inside because the lock broke so we foresee a tough time handling the passengers later.
And this Japanese couple with their extremely small infant. I can't help but worry about bringing kids that young onboard an aircraft. Other than them making a ruckus, the amount of germs and bacteria they're exposed to is also another concern.
Since it was Easter today, each of the passenger trays came with one chocolate Easter egg except the special meals tray. This passenger who ordered Vegan meal asked, "why is it that the whole world has the chocolate egg except me?" Like how we learn in training, choice of words is very important. I explained to her that we do not cater for special meals because of the ingredients of the chocolate egg, but if she'd like to have one I have plenty extra. She took one and continued complaining about how we don't provide jam on the tray for the bread because they don't eat butter. That isn't a valid enough reason for us to cater jam for your personal preference right? I explained to her and she argued, why we provide butter when she's vegan. I took the butter from the normal tray and proved to her, that the "butter" on her tray is actually margarine. She kept quiet and continued eating her chocolate Easter egg.
On the returning sector, this passenger showed me his boarding pass which clearly states 26C as his seat but he told me the ground staff changed it to 12D. I didn't really get it because there was no amendment on the boarding pass so I just brushed it off. The very next moment, this gentleman was clearly upset because his seat "was changed three times" and someone was seated in his 12D. Without much consideration I immediately squeezed my way through the boarding crowd and asked the ground staff to come in to settle this. It eventually turned out that the passenger at 12D was seated wrongly. As this gentleman was waiting for all this to get settled he stepped slightly into the row behind. To my utmost horror, the passenger in that row asked him to move away! Imagine the anger inside.
After everything was sorted out, he got his seat 12D and in fact the entire row is empty but it is non-reclinable since the row behind was an emergency exit row. Although the ground staff told me he was aware and fine about it, I decided to move him forward since Row 6 was empty and reclinable. He was very glad and appreciative about it. Case closed!
One jcl pax also recognized me the last time I did DRW and told me he lost his specs on the last flight and asked me to find it for him. Lolol but I really couldn't!
And... one PPS in EY who was such a nice guy we had a really nice long chat in the cabin and he had lots of drinks too. He thanked me for taking care of him and said how much he loved Singapore!
And guess what? We actually touched down almost an hour earlier than scheduled arrival time!
Such a nice flight to work with and nice crew... DRW isn't that bad after all!

Work on a PH...
14 April 2017 // Friday
So its Good Friday today and sadly I have a mid day PEN and what makes it even more tempting to call in sick is that my roster is OFF PEN OFF so 3 days off do sound tempting right...
But anyway, my extended family have a advanced Mother's Day lunch and in order to accommodate me. We had lunch at Peach Garden at the airport and had to rush off for my flight.
Not to mention how full the flight both ways was and the amount of special meals we had, I was S1 for the day and that meant a load of 3 and 10.
I was basically not in the mood for work since it was PH and being S1 made me feel all the more "left out" hahaha because I'm totally not aware what's going on at the back especially when we have an sny.
Blah Blah Blah this post is rubbish because I forgot what happened. #kthxbye

Series of Events in a Day
12 April 2017 // Wednesday
So today's my one and only 3 sectors for the month! Danang-Siem Reap (DAD-REP) today.
The series of events start as we took the lift to departure hall. As my set of crew was about to exit the lift, a foreign Asian man stepped into the lift hurriedly before we even got out. His face seemed to be puzzled and shocked from seeing us but trust me; we were feeling the same too. He stood right in the middle of the lift as we struggled to get out of the small lift with 7 people inside.
So I was doing jcl today and our Captain is a "top 3" I would say so I was really on my toes the whole time. Jcl load was 12, 7 and 10 so it wasn't going to be an easy day for me. Its never easy when there's 12 in jcl so my cic and I were working our ass off. Thank god we had a few minutes to munch on our food before preparing for landing in Danang.
Transit passengers to REP are requested to disembark as a security sweep needs to be done. When boarding in DAD for REP, a family told us they were not aware that this flight is not direct. My crew told them that multiple announcements have been made by tech crew and cabin crew but they said they didn't know until they disembarked and realized it wasn't REP.
The middle sector only lasted 1 hour but the weather got really bumpy that my stomach was kinda churning so I'd really rate it a 8 of 10. After the seatbelt sign was turned off, a passenger feedback that she hated turbulence and hated taking flights and asked us to do something abut the weather. Let me summon the gods then?
As we were landing into REP, Captain announced that Angkor Wat can be seen from the left side of the plane so almost instantly you could see all the heads turning to look out. My jcl passenger decided to unfasten his seatbelt just to see the view ad what's worse was that we were very close to ground. The little fuming me inside was very tempted to yell at him but my cic said to ignore. Even on ground, I was tempted to be sarcastic towards him but I held back.
On the last sector, it was already almost 8pm as we departed so just as I guessed, most of them had their dinner already so they decided to skip the onboard meals. They had a good sleep and my cic and I had a good rest too. Just can't wait to land.
After arrival in SIN, as we were walking out into Arrival Hall, this middle aged uncle was slowly pushing his trolley of luggage after collecting his luggage from the conveyor belt. We could foresee a collision between our set of crew and him since we crew have to head for the red channel (which is further) and the uncle only has to go through green channel (which is in our way). But as the circumstances looked we seemed to be able to walk past him before colliding, which actually also mean he gotta kind of let us pass first. But I think since its in a crew's blood to give way, our set of 6 cabin crew and 2 tech crew eventually stopped and let this uncle walk first.
And so, his friend shouted from behind, "walao eh brother! what you doing!"
Hahaha and we all secretly laughed inside.
Anyway here's a picture of the sunset in Siem Reap.

PNH Problems
11 April 2017 // Tuesday
PNH again today!!!!! The load is really so unforgiving... 127 and 150 haiz.
I have come to realize that no PNH flights is ever good to do. Firstly most of them ar enon-English speakers, second... I have no idea too. Its just so hard and frustrating to do. You can tell by every crew's face after meal service and collection.
On the second sector, the final load was 148 although it was originally overbooked. Our cic asked the ground staff for help to tag the bigger bags so we wouldn't have baggage/space problem.
One of the first few passengers boarded and tried to fit their luggage in the overhead compartment. Obviously he realized it couldn't fit in so he asked me for help (count me unlucky since I was the nearest crew to him). We usually fit luggage vertically in to save space but if the bags get too bulky, fitting it horizontally usually does the trick. However for this case, despite my efforts, the luggage refuse to fit in. After I gave it one hard push, it fit just in. But the moment I turned my back to help the next passenger, I realized his wife was carrying the exact same luggage. Which based on my one year flying experience judgement, it will not fit.
So we made the ultimate decision: to offload the luggage.
Sadly both of them are Cambodians so they don't really understand what I was trying to get across to them. Before tagging the bags into the cargo, we gotta make sure that all valuables, medication, important documents, laptops or portable charger. But of course they couldn't understand me. As I was trying my best to understand where their final destination was, they just kept telling me Singapore and it shows the same on the boarding pass too. After communicating to the ground staff, another crew informed me that they were actually transiting to Brisbane. Oh my gosh. Big hooha on ground.
Meal service was crazily fast and that's when I realize how efficient we are when it comes to short flights. The load was 148 so we really had no time to spare and we were grabbing every minute we have to do everything.
A slight delay of 10 minutes but what was more memorable was the super hard landing that the crew seated beside me screamed "wtf" and grabbed me and same goes to the other two crew. I guess it was raining really heavily so it had to be a hard and firm landing else the aircraft would skid.
Anyway it feels good to be home and this weather is perfect for a good night's sleep zzz...
