PNH again today!!!!! The load is really so unforgiving... 127 and 150 haiz.
I have come to realize that no PNH flights is ever good to do. Firstly most of them ar enon-English speakers, second... I have no idea too. Its just so hard and frustrating to do. You can tell by every crew's face after meal service and collection.
On the second sector, the final load was 148 although it was originally overbooked. Our cic asked the ground staff for help to tag the bigger bags so we wouldn't have baggage/space problem.
One of the first few passengers boarded and tried to fit their luggage in the overhead compartment. Obviously he realized it couldn't fit in so he asked me for help (count me unlucky since I was the nearest crew to him). We usually fit luggage vertically in to save space but if the bags get too bulky, fitting it horizontally usually does the trick. However for this case, despite my efforts, the luggage refuse to fit in. After I gave it one hard push, it fit just in. But the moment I turned my back to help the next passenger, I realized his wife was carrying the exact same luggage. Which based on my one year flying experience judgement, it will not fit.
So we made the ultimate decision: to offload the luggage.
Sadly both of them are Cambodians so they don't really understand what I was trying to get across to them. Before tagging the bags into the cargo, we gotta make sure that all valuables, medication, important documents, laptops or portable charger. But of course they couldn't understand me. As I was trying my best to understand where their final destination was, they just kept telling me Singapore and it shows the same on the boarding pass too. After communicating to the ground staff, another crew informed me that they were actually transiting to Brisbane. Oh my gosh. Big hooha on ground.
Meal service was crazily fast and that's when I realize how efficient we are when it comes to short flights. The load was 148 so we really had no time to spare and we were grabbing every minute we have to do everything.
A slight delay of 10 minutes but what was more memorable was the super hard landing that the crew seated beside me screamed "wtf" and grabbed me and same goes to the other two crew. I guess it was raining really heavily so it had to be a hard and firm landing else the aircraft would skid.
Anyway it feels good to be home and this weather is perfect for a good night's sleep zzz...
