Sleep > Food??

18 February 2017 // Saturday

Sucks to be working on a Saturday but oh well. TRV overnight and my cic changed last minute. The cic that was called up is known to be a little "crazy" onboard, so I'm keeping my fears in mind. Lol.

I was 3rd most senior on this flight, and I had a seriously bad feeling that I will be S1 (which I don't want because of the cic) and what's worse is that another crew said he also had a feeling I would be S1. Seriously I wouldn't mind if it was other cic but because its her I recalled all the shuddering stories of her previous flights I swear I don't want to work JCL.

Like people say... Be careful what you wish for. Yeah I was S1. Suck it up man hahaha. Not too bad actually since going up was 0 in JCL and coming back was only 5. So we kinda had a good rest on the way up but I kept going to the back because I was discussing marriage and hdb stuff with another crew who is getting married soon too. But I was afraid cic might think I don't want to talk to her... But seriously we had not much in common.

On the way back, 3 out of 5 were Chinese and I'm surprised. The other couple was Caucasian. And out of these 3 Chinese, 2 were Taiwanese while the other was a PRC. Here's what's interesting about the last guy I mentioned.

So on ground when I offered newspapers and all I spoke to all in English (one does not speak Chinese to Chinese lest some gets offended AND some speaks really good English) so all of them managed to reply me decently. So I continued speaking in English when taking orders after take off and this guy at 3A couldn't really understood me and to a certain point in time he got a little frustrated and asked in a little raised tone, "can you speak chinese?" (in chinese). So of course I did since I could.

After I took his order, I went to prepare his tray but to my surprise when I approached him, he was snoring away! IT was less than just 2 mins and he fell asleep? I was speechless and couldn't help but chuckled.

The very next moment, when my cic walked out into the cabin, she came back questioning me if 3A was sleeping. I was positive because I couldn't wake him up although repeatedly calling his name, but my cic showed me, he was awake! I was so confused hahaha so I immediately rushed out to serve him his appetizer.

5 minutes later as I was checking if he was done with his appetizer so I could serve his main... guess what? Yeap, he was snoring away again, with the chicken still on his fork. Hahahaha I held back my laugh and rushed back to the galley.

After relaying the story to my cic, I peeked outside again, and there he was happily munching on his chicken. By this time I didn't know to laugh or cry.

It took him about an hour before he finished his appetizer, so finally I managed to serve his main course.

I shall not mention how many times this repeated with his main course and can you believe it or not, a 4 hours flight and he only finished his food right before land?

Told this to hubby and he said this guy prolly has some sleeping disorder... If that's the case its pretty sad because they can't drive or operate machinery as its too dangerous. But it's still funny.

Yay to rest off! #weekends
